Starting at 26 weeks, I began experiencing a sharp, localized pain in the middle of my abdomen while running. It feels like a sustained cramp, a pulling sensation--but not a stitch in my side, since it's more toward the middle of my belly. I've been running once a week throughout my pregnancy with no problem until now: any suggestions on what to do? I tried a belly band this morning, but still felt the pain as soon as I started running at my base pace. It goes away when I power walk, but I'd like to be able to keep running! Being more deliberate about my breathing and TVA engagement helps a little, but I used to be able to run and keep a natural breath pattern and automatic core engagement without thinking too much about it. Ultimately, the pain is sharpest during the first 10/15 minutes of the run--once those endorphins kick in, it's easier (though perhaps not safe?) to ignore.
